ഇത് എൻ്റെ കഥ. എൻ്റെ മാത്രം കഥയല്ല.
പലരുടെയും ജീവിത കഥയാണിത്, പക്ഷേ പലരും തിരിച്ചറിയാറില്ല.
ഞാൻ ജോൺ. ഒരു മിഡിൽ ക്ലാസ് കുടുംബത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചു. അച്ഛൻ എഞ്ചിനീയർ; എന്നെയും അതേ വഴി വിടാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ കണക്ക് എനിക്ക് ഒരു ശാപമായിരുന്നു. കൂട്ടുകാർ മന്ദബുദ്ധി എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു. പ്രീഡിഗ്രിക്ക് കുറവ് മാർക്ക്, പക്ഷേ അച്ഛൻ സ്വാധീനം ഉപയോഗിച്ച് എഞ്ചിനീയറിംഗ് അഡ്മിഷൻ വാങ്ങി. പക്ഷേ ഒരുവർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ പഠനം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു ഞാൻ കേരളത്തിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തി.
പിന്നീട് അച്ഛനൊപ്പം കരാർ പണിയിൽ കയറി, പക്ഷേ വിജയിച്ചില്ല. അപ്പോൾ ഒരു ബന്ധുവിന്റെ നിർബന്ധനത്തിൽ എൻ്റെ IQ ടെസ്റ്റ് നടത്തി—റിസൾട്ട് 140 ! മന്ദബുദ്ധി എന്ന് പേര് എന്നിൽനിന്നകന്നു.
പക്ഷേ അതൊന്നും കൊണ്ട് ജീവിത നിലവാരം മാറിയില്ല. ഒരു വെൽഡിങ് ഷോപ്പിൽ ജോലി തുടങ്ങി, അവസാനം സ്വന്തം ഷോപ്പ് ആരംഭിച്ചു. പക്ഷേ 140 IQ ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും ഞാൻ എത്തേണ്ടിടത്ത് എത്തിയില്ല.
ഇനിയാണ് എൻ്റെ വലിയ പിഴവ് —മാതാപിതാക്കൾ എൻ്റെ കഴിവുകൾ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞില്ല – മോശം. എന്നാൽ ഗുരുതരമായതോ, ഞാൻ തന്നെ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുശേഷം എൻ്റെ മകളോട് അതേ തെറ്റ് ആവർത്തിച്ചു! പഠിക്കാൻ മിടുക്കി. കളാസ്സിൽ 1st. അവളെ സയൻസ് എടുപ്പിച്ച് ഒരു എഞ്ചിനീയർ ആക്കാൻ ഞാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു. പക്ഷെ +2 വിന് science അവളെ വലച്ചു. കഷ്ടിച്ച് 50% മാർക്ക്. വളരെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടി അവസാനം Sociology ഡിഗ്രി സീറ്റ് മാത്രമേ കിട്ടിയുള്ളൂ. അവളും ഞങ്ങളും ലക്ഷ്യമില്ലാതെ വിഷമിച്ച മാസങ്ങൾ.
എന്നാൽ അതിൽ അഭിരുചി high ആയിരുന്ന അവൾ university 4-ആം റാങ്കൊടെ ബിരുദധാരിയായപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ദിവസങ്ങളോളം കരഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവൾ പിന്നോട്ട് നോക്കിയിട്ടില്ല. MA 2-ആം റാങ്ക്, ഇന്ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ഒരു പേരെടുത്ത സ്കൂളിൽ അധ്യാപിക.
ആദ്യമേ അവളുടെ Aptitude (അഭിരുചി) തിരിച്ചറിയാനായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഈ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകൾ വേണ്ടിവരില്ലായിരുന്നു. നമ്മുടെ കാലത്ത് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ Aptitude ടെസ്റ്റുകൾ ലഭ്യമല്ലായിരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന് കേരളത്തിലും ഇവ ലഭ്യമാണ്. കുട്ടികൾക്ക് 15-ആം വയസ്സാകുമ്പോൾ Aptitude ടെസ്റ്റ് നടത്തൂ, അവരെ അവർക്കു യോഗ്യമായ മേഖലയിലേക്ക് നയിക്കുക.
